Logistication© The Game
loh-jis-tik-ey-shuhn [lɒˈdʒɪstɪkeɪʃən] n.: The act of handling the details of your turn. “Logistication,” when a player picks up a whole pile of cards, he should declare, “I’m Logisticating!” before organizing his cards. That player cannot be hassled with, pressured, rushed, heckled or harassed for taking too long.
The Setup
Each player starts with 9 cards: 3 face down on the table in front of him, 3 face up on top of those, and 3 in his hand. Divide the remaining cards into two “Draw Piles,” allowing space between them for discard. The game starts with an empty discard pile, this is called “Open-open,” the player to the dealer’s left goes first, playing clockwise to start. Designate a space for a “squash” pile.
The object of the game
The goal is to be the first to run out of cards completely. But keep playing and try not to be the last man standing.
Game play
This game has 3 phases, players will advance independently. If you can play on your turn, you must play. Play fast! Your turn can often be stolen or you can play a matching card if it is drawn at the end of your turn.
Phase 1: Play cards and redraw back up to at least 3 until the “Draw Piles” are gone. A card of the same color that is numbered greater than or matching the one on the top of the discard pile can be played OR a like-colored “Specialty card.” If you cannot play, you must pick up the discard pile and put in your hand (leaving the game as “Open-open” to the next player). Pairs or multiples of any card can be played together; for “Specialty Cards” differently numbered “Draw Cards” can be played together as if they match.
“Squashing” the discard pile:
When three or more cards of matching face value are in the discard pile, it is squashed and removed completely from the game. The “Squash” specialty card also removes the discard pile from play.
Phase 2: Begins when the draw piles are gone and you have run out of cards in your hand. Pick up the three face-up cards from in front of you and continue playing until they too are gone. “Draw 3,” and “Draw 6” cards act as a “Not U” during phases 2 & 3 since there are no cards left to draw.
Phase 3: Draw and play one card at a time blindly from the face-down cards in front of you. The first player to run out of cards wins the game. …keep playing, one-on-one is fun!
Specialty Cards
“Reverse Rotation,” changes the direction of game play. In one-on-one play this card acts as a “Not U.”
*If one “Reverse Rotation” is dropped, the player who would miss-out on their turn can steal the rotation back by playing another “Reverse Rotation” card quickly before the next player takes their turn (often called Counter and Recounter); this can be countered again...
“Not U.” Next player misses their turn. Multiple “Not U” cards move the game past multiple players.
“Wild.” A wild card must be defined by playing a colored card on it.
“Draw 6.” This black, wild card must be defined. The next player misses their turn & draws 6. During phase 2, “Draw 6” acts as a “Not U.” Multiples affect subsequent players.
“Draw 3.” Next player misses their turn & draws three cards. Multiples affect subsequent players.
“Squash.” Remove discard pile from play, leaving the game “Open-open” to the next player.
Funky combo scenarios
Assume clockwise rotation, turn order A,B,C, and D.
Draw 6 defined by “Reverse Rotation.” Player A plays a “Draw 6” defined by “Reverse Order,” making Player B draw 6 cards-- then play. Then the reverse is activated making it player A’s turn again, then onto player D. Essentially, play order is reversed between players B and C.
Playing a double “Reverse Rotation.” When a pair of “reverse rotation” cards are played it resets that player’s turn & they must play on the top card. This essentially steals the next player’s turn. Game play continues in the same direction as before.
For 2 Player Games :
Cut the deck in half (55 cards per Player) and 1 left to start with. Reverses Not U's and draw three's make it that players turn AGAIN.it goes pretty fast, so, pay attention. Each Player deals their 3 down and 3 up and 3 in hand.the play starts with the "Non-Dealer" HAVE FUN!!
Card Game Includes: (111 cards total)
